Project: UHills Raised Garden Beds

The primary goal of our Green Project is to create a raised garden bed area that engages our students in hands-on learning about sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental responsibility, while fostering curiosity and teamwork through gardening.

Our Green Project aims to create a raised garden bed area at our elementary school to provide students with hands-on environmental education. Through this project, students will learn about sustainability, composting, plant life cycles, pollination, and the importance of healthy soil and water conservation. They will also gain a deeper understanding of how food is grown and the impact of local gardening on reducing carbon footprints.

This garden will serve as an outdoor classroom, promoting inquiry-based learning in science, math, and health. It will encourage responsibility, collaboration, and a connection to nature. Students will grow flowers, vegetables, and native plants.

The project will be implemented in phases. First, volunteers will prepare the site and install the raised beds. Next, students will help plant and care for the garden during science lessons and after-school programs. Teachers will integrate garden activities into their curriculum. This project will enhance environmental literacy, promote wellness, and beautify our school grounds.
