Project: Using Hand Dryers to Save Paper Towels

Our goal at Rochester High School is to use efficient electric hand dryers in order to reduce the use of paper towels in our bathrooms. This will save trees, landfill waste, money, and lead to a more sustainable environment.

We will be adding electric hand dryers to bathrooms that don’t currently have one. This will help us save on usage of paper towels. This will save trees, landfill waste, money, and lead to a more sustainable environment. One ton of paper consumes 15-20 trees, uses between 5,000-15,000 gallons of water, and takes up 3-4 cubic yards of landfill space. The RHS Green Club will make informational announcements to inform the students and staff of the change and its benefits. The information will also be shared with the community through the falcon flyer sent home to all parents.
