Our Botany classroom has beige walls. BEIGE! The drab walls do not inspire. A moss wall will serve as an attractive and engaging Art/Science backdrop.
Art meets in this room 3 hours a day and Science for another 3. This preserved moss wall will be designed by the 3-D art students, built by the Wilderness Survival students, and put together by the Botany students. Additionally, each year, the Biology students will gather moss from the woods and the Chemistry students will preserve it in glycerin. Once dried, the newly preserved moss will be added to the wall until the moss mural travels, free form, around the classroom, embracing the students in a nature-adjacent environment.
